Actions Report Basic Design
The Basic Design page of the Actions Report Designer allows you to select which actions you want to include in your report, plus some overall formatting decisions.
Actions can be selected for inclusion in the report based on status, priority, due date and/or actionee.
Actions can have one of four user-selectable status states, as shown below. You may include/exclude actions with any particular status state by clicking on the appropriate box so that the tick mark appears/disappears.
|Open||The action is required to be completed by a specified date
"Give me a report on this by the end of this month"
|Ongoing||The action is to be carried out until further notice
"Give me a report on this once a month"
|On hold||The action is need but for some reason cannot be completed at this time
"We need a report on this, but there are more urgent things to be done first"
|Closed||The action has been completed
"Thank you for your report"
Actions can have one of three user-selectable priority states - normal, urgent or critical. You may include/exclude actions with any particular priority state by clicking on the appropriate box so that the tick mark appears/disappears.
Action Due Dates
You may select actions with a particular range of due dates for your report. Since only open actions have due dates, you must ensure that open actions are included in your report by checking the Include Open actions box in the Action Status frame. Available selection modes are:
During Select a time period from the drop-down list such as Next week or This month. Mandrel will convert this to appropriate beginning and ending dates when you generate the report.
Overdue Mandrel will select all actions which have due dates earlier than the date on which you generate the report.
Between Mandrel will ask you to insert a specific pair of dates. All actions whose due dates fall within the specified time period will be selected.
On or after Mandrel will ask you to insert a specific date. All actions whose due dates are on or after this date will be selected.
On or before Mandrel will ask you to insert a specific date. All actions whose due dates are on or before this date will be selected.
You can select one or more actionees whose actions are to be included in the report. The default option includes all actionees.
If your report includes non-action fields, such as cost item number and name, and there is more than one action attached to some cost items, these fields will have the same data in them for each action. Selecting Show non-action data for first actions only will cause these fields to be blanked for the second and subsequent actions in each cost item.
You can freeze the header row and up to 10 columns on the left hand side of the report, so that when you scroll down or across on your screen to see other parts of the report, these rows/columns will remain visible.
